What Fall Activity Are You Looking Forward To This Season?

As the leaves begin to change colors and temperatures start to drop, people begin to wonder what fall activities our Ledyard Colonels are looking forward to this season. Many local establishments, such as B.F. Clyde’s Cider Mill or Holmberg Orchards, begin to host fall activities such as: walking through their apple cider-scented stores or exciting corn mazes. Activities such as these, help the fall feelings kick in.

Instructional leader, Mrs. Flax, is looking forward to trying out Dunkin’s pumpkin-flavored drinks and, “Hiking through Devil’s Hopyard to see all the colors changing.”

Senior Teagan Lajoie looks forward to carving pumpkins and scooping out the slimy guts. “My mother roasts the seeds and they taste really good; fresh pumpkin also smells super good,” said Lajoie.

Freshman Rylee Hope mentioned how excited she was for the upcoming football games, “I can’t wait to experience my first homecoming,” said Hope.

Sophomore Madison Soucier is excited to visit haunted houses with her friends. “I don’t know why I enjoy haunted houses so much; it’s super fun when I am able to go with my friends but I can’t stand when the actors have chainsaws,” said Soucier.

Personally, I am super excited to try all the fall-themed things, especially pumpkin. Having a bucket list has prompted me to try and visit new places filled with beautiful landscapes including new cider mills, the Preston Corn Maze, and walking around towns, such as downtown Mystic, CT,  or Salem, MA.

As the spooky season rolls in, fall traditions are starting to appear, including carving pumpkins, picking out costumes, or diving into classic spooky movies, such as “Hocus Pocus” or “Casper.” Now is a good time to start venturing out with friends to try something new and experience all the fall-favorite activities!
