On Oct. 3, the Chamber Choir will be hosting the first ever comedian hypnotist show in the Ledyard High auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Jim Spinnato has performed in comedy clubs, community programs, cooperative events and stage shows for more than 20 years.
The show features material that can range from G- rated to R- rated. According to music teacher Russell Hammond, the community will not want to miss this show.
“The things he will get LHS students to do Saturday are going to be quite funny and you really need to check it out,” Hammond said. “I think because the tickets are pretty high and the show is kind of an unknown to LHS, people may say skip it, but that would be a mistake. If you go, you will see a great show and help Chamber at the same time.”
This is not the first time that Chamber has fundraised for their 2016 trip to Europe. The group has organized events such as car washes and business sponsorships.
“The community support for the Chamber trip to Europe next summer has been great,” Hammond said. “For example, folks have donated over 25,000 cans and bottles for us to return and we have made close to $1,500. Local businesses like the Gales Ferry Subway and McDonald’s have supported us. The community has been great.”
