January A’s and F’s

A to the Women’s March: Planned for the day after Inauguration Day, millions of women (and some men) of all ages gathered all around the world for a more positive purpose: women’s rights.

A to January’s Netflix update: From more ‘Degrassi’ to ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’, this month’s update has actually added some good movies and TV shows, instead of taking them all away. Now students have more options to binge-watch instead of stressing about mid-terms.

C to Inauguration Day: Nearly 100 arrests were made in this bittersweet day of American history with power being handed down from president to president. With police throwing tear gas bombs at rioters to protesters setting fire to an abandoned limo, it was absolutely the most controversial inauguration.

F to ‘Howbow Dah’: Here’s to the first ridiculous meme of 2017. Have a problem with this grade? Cash me outside.

F to midterms: LHS students are still mourning over the glory days before ninth grade when we did not have to spend hours on end studying for tests that have the potential to destroy our GPAs. Pro tip: If you take APs, most of them don’t have midterms and if you pass the AP exam it’s one less test you’ll have to take in college too.

F to the hamster video: MAYBE THE REASON YOUR BOYFRIEND CHEATED ON YOU IS BECAUSE YOU’RE THE KIND OF GIRL WHO WOULD FLUSH A LIVING BREATHING INNOCENT HAMSTER.

F to “A Dog’s Purpose”: Do not see this movie. The producers do not deserve a dime after the leaked video showing a german shepard being forced into intense waters for an unauthorized stunt.

F to the body found outside the Crystal Mall: Tragically, a well-known, hardworking man, Kim Weeks, 61, of New London was found in the woods near the Crystal Mall last week. He was said to be a very kind man by many he did odd jobs for those who knew him as ‘Kenny’ and will be missed dearly by those who knew him.
