Both Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts have welcomed their limited-edition pumpkin-flavored beverages, such as pumpkin spice lattes (PSL’s) back to the menu for the fall season. The lattes are widely celebrated and regarded as fan favorites. What else does fall have to offer (aside from delicious pumpkin coffees)?
- OTHER Pumpkin Products
Pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins (available at Dunkin Donuts), pumpkin soaps, pumpkin room sprays, pumpkin pie, pumpkin yogurt (sold by Chobani), pumpkin Oreos, pumpkin gum, pumpkin seeds, pumpkin waffles (Eggo), pumpkin EVERYTHING.
2) ALL the candy that goes on sale the day after Halloween.
Yes, Halloween is over a month away…but the candy left over in stores directly after Halloween is so cheap…it’s just really cool.
3) Knee high socks.
They’re cute and warm. ‘Nuff said.
4) OTHER fall flavors/foods:
Maple Pecan Coffee (Dunkin Donuts)
Salted Caramel Mocha (Starbucks)
Teavana Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte (Starbucks)
APPLE CRISP. (It’s just generally really good. You can pick it up at a local grocer or make it on your own.)
Cool stuff.
5) ALLLLLL the horror films that come with the season.
This is the best time of the year for scary movies, hands down. So here, below, is a list of some of them coming soon with their release dates. Never too early to make movie plans.
“It” (2017) – September 8, 2017 / already out
“Flatliners” (2017) – September 29, 2017
“Happy Death Day” (2017) – October 13, 2017
“Cult of Chucky” (2017) – October 20, 2017
“Jigsaw” (2017) – October 27, 2017
6) The colors that are in season.
Suddenly H&M is full of burgundy, mustard yellow, and burnt orange and you’re kind of digging it.
7) The temperature.
So…not a product. However, fall is the perfect time to curl up under your big fluffy comforter and embrace the new chill of the outdoors. Those who do outdoor sports are also particularly fond of this weather.
8) Sweaters
It’s finally cool enough to wear a sweater, and warm enough that you don’t need a coat, too.
9) Halloween Costumes
Again, Halloween is a ways away, but Halloween costumes are finally making their way into stores — and it’s never too early to be festive.
10) Local Events
Fall is sure to bring tons of activity to the area. Some awesome treats less than an hour away:
Clyde’s Cider Mill in Mystic, CT — awesome fresh apple cider and sweets.
Scott’s Yankee Farmer in East Lyme, CT — home to the “Bad Apple” corn maze.
Ledyard’s Haunted Trail in Ledyard, CT — (late October) Halloween treat produced by Ledyard students and residents alike.
And of course, visit a Starbucks/Dunkin Donuts nearby to pick up your own pumpkin spice latte.
(Specifically iced is best – with whipped cream. Always.)
