The Ledyard High School Coffee House, hosted by the National Honors Society, has been a growing trend for students to attend on the quarterly Thursday night; students join together to show off their talents and bond over the skilled students of Ledyard. This quarter’s Coffee House will be held on May 24th from 7-9 pm in the courtyard of Ledyard High School; if it rains it will be moved to its usual spot in the cafeteria. Anyone from rappers, to poets, to dancers, to saxophonists can perform, and newcomers are always accepted. Not only is the Coffee House a great way to show off your talents, it’s a fun time to get to cheer on your friends and classmates.
Freshman Lily Cayangyang has performed twice this year. Her first performance was a piano cover. “I honestly felt super comfortable and it didn’t even feel like I was performing, it just felt like I was at home in my room playing by myself with no audience.” During the March Coffee House, Lily decided to make her singing debut..”I felt my ears burning at the start because I was so nervous, but I felt really accomplished afterward because everybody was rooting for me and was super supportive.”
Overall the Coffee House is a welcoming event, encouraging you to come showcase your special talents and to support the skilled performers of Ledyard High School.
