Meet the Choirs: a Ledyard High School tradition that COVID-19 took over last year, resulting in the groups missing out on a live performance. Meet the Choirs gives the public insight into the choir part of the music program. And this year, it was back and in full action! (with COVID-19 precautions of course!) For those who have been able to experience the magic that is Meet the Choirs can say it is absolutely astounding! Senior Yuki Keele who is involved in Chorale, would describe the choirs as ”we’re fun, we’re exciting, we love learning and we are very welcoming to everyone!” And those who have not had the opportunity to see or participate in it are in for a treat! With the first in-person performance in almost two years, the choirs have a mixture of feelings; nervous, excited, scared, and some don’t even know what to expect because it is their first Meet the Choirs ever. For those who were performing for the first time, it was commemorated with a white carnation that they were able to wear on their shirts.
Meet the Choirs was on October 28th, at 7:30 pm. Things looked a little different this year, when you bought a ticket to be in person, it automatically blocked off the seats next to you, in front of you, and behind you, for COVID-19 safety. And if you couldn’t come to the show in person, no worries! You could buy a code online which will allow you to stream the event live from the comforts of your home.
