The 2026-2027 school year kicked off and has already been an adventure. After an eventful August and September, here are the grades for the year so far!
Freshman Class Elections: A+
The freshman class voted for their student council. Many amazing candidates gave speeches as they competed for a spot on the class office. Karlesia Johnson, Sofia Singh, Beckett Knights, and Elise Dunsmore are all the members of the 2026-2027 freshman class office.
Senior Sunrise/Class trip: A
The senior class started the year with loads of fun! The seniors woke up bright and early for Senior Sunrise. They spent time with friends while eating breakfast and taking photos in front of the gorgeous sunrise. Later in the morning, the seniors headed down to Brownstone Adventure Park for more fun like waterslides, cliff jumping, zip lines and more! Overall, the seniors had a great time celebrating their final year of high school.
The Lightning Thief: A
The school held auditions for the musical “The Lightning Thief.” Freshman Owen Richard and Gavin Holwitt, along with sophomore Tessa Dalton, are playing the lead roles in the show this year. The musical will be shown from November 19-21, 2026, at 7:00 pm. The cast is filled with many other talented students as well, so it should be a great production!
Fall Sports: B
The fall sports teams have been very active so far. The volleyball team leaves September with a 7-3 record, and there are plenty more wins to come. The football team had their first game, which included youth night with all of the youth football players and cheerleaders. The game ultimately ended in a loss, but success is not too far out of reach for the Colonels, considering they won their next two games, ending the month with a solid 2-1 record. Both girls’ and boys’ cross country have started off great! As far as cross country goes, both girls and boys have had success. Sophomore Clara Shelton and senior Greyson Stephenson have earned the first athlete of the week title of the year, with junior Maggie Littler earning it the next week. The girls’ soccer team had a tough start to the season but fought through and started to find a rhythm, ending this month with a record of 2-5-3. The boys’ soccer team is ending this first month with success as they head into October with a 3-3-1 record. Girls swimming is outstanding this season, with sophomore Riley Stankiewicz leading the team as well as earning Athlete of the Week.
