Being Hopeful

The girls indoor track team started their season off with a bang by coming in 13th on Jan. 17 at the H-K invite meet. Several runners have established goals for the season.

Junior Carina Mitchell is one of them, “My hopes and goals definitely include my 4 by 800 meter relay team to make all ECC,” Mitchell said. “Since my 4 by 800 team already qualified for states, I’m hoping we can run a fast time there as well.”

Other runners have more general goals. “My goal is that the team will do well overall in the ECC and states and that we all have fun,” Junior Destiny Kuss said.

Sophomore Erin Gralton agrees with Kuss. “I just hope that the team does well and that it is a fun season,” Gralton said.

Koss and Mitchell both feel that the meets are the best part of indoor track. “I like the meets because everyone cheers for their fellow teammates even in different races,” Kuss said.

“My favorite parts of indoor track are the meets. There are always so many schools there, and it’s always a fun environment,” Mitchell said.

Overall the team hopes that they will perform their best at the last major meets of the season.
