It’s time to stand up and cheer, because on May 13 STAND is hosting the second edition of the Lip Sync Battle. It will take place in the Ledyard High School auditorium from 7 to 9 p.m. There will be a five dollar admission. A panel of four surprise teachers will be judging the event and choosing the ultimate winners.
Conner Masten, a senior and one of the leaders of STAND, said the group decided to organize this event because it had a great influence on the involvement of the club with other students. “We want to really establish it within the LHS timeline as an active event by an active club, …it received a positive response from the first test-run we did in December,” Masten said. The club understands just how much time and effort needs to be put into organizing it, along with learning from their mistakes from the last time. “We know what was good and what was bad. What needed to be improved, cut or added,” Masten said. “Now we are ready to really bring this event to life and up to its full potential.”
