Secret Talents Showcased at Annual Talent Show

On May 6 at 7:30 p.m. Ledyard High School is hosting its annual talent show. The show has a great lineup of acts including an accordion solo, a ukulele song, a funny piano routine, beatboxers and a Rubik’s Cube battle.

“I am playing the accordion,” senior Aaron Nocia said. “I own one, but I don’t exactly know how to play it. So my performance is very experimental.”

Seniors Olivia Triplett and Tricia Tolles will be performing a ukulele song called “5 Year Time.” “I am looking forward to seeing varied talents of the student body,” Triplett said. “Because this is a music program event run by Tri-M, it can become just a singing and band showcase but seeing new stuff is really cool… it’s just amazing to see how our school has such crazy hidden talents that rarely get showcased.”

Junior Maggie Cayangyang is performing “You are My Sunshine.” “I had initially planned on playing something else for the show but over the weekend I encountered this really cool version of ‘You are My Sunshine’ and that inspired me to make my own version of it to perform.”

Seniors Eli Uttley-Rosado and Catherine Rousseau will also be performing. “ Catherine and I are doing improv comedy,” Uttley-Rosado said. “Similar to ‘Whose Line is it Anyway’ or Improvaganza.”

Cayangyang added “I think just being able to share doing what I love with my peers, it’s such a fulfilling experience.”
