What’s Coming to Netflix in 2021?

With 2020 ending, there is hope that 2021 will bring us more exciting things to look forward to. And there is one thing we can always count on, Netflix bringing us movies and TV shows we can all binge watch during these times. Here is a list of eight movies or shows coming to Netflix in 2021. 

  1. Finding Ohana 

“When two Brooklyn siblings, played by Kea Peahu and Alex Aiono, find a journal pointing to long-lost treasure during their summer vacation, they are set on an epic adventure to reconnect with their Hawaiian heritage” (Netflix).

  1. Lost Ollie 

Inspired by William Joyce’s “Ollie’s Odyssey,” Lost Ollie follows a lost toy as he ventures across the country to find not just his owner, but his best friend. 

  1. Atypical Season 4

The series centers around Sam, a teenager on the autism spectrum, and his journey through romance, college, friendship, and independence which also sends his mother on her own life-changing path. Sam and his family, which also includes his younger sister and father, adjust throughout changes and explore what it means to be “normal.” 

  1. Stranger Things Season 4

Stranger Things takes place in a small town in Indiana called Hawkins. When a series of unusual events including the disappearance of a young boy, Will Byers, the peaceful community is turned upside down in search of Will. Secret government agencies and supernatural forces bear down on the town and its citizens, while some begin to find and understand that there is more than what meets the eye. The last season ended on a huge cliffhanger, and fans are eager to find out what happened. 

  1. Outer Banks Season 2

The show follows a group of teenagers in the Outer Banks of North Carolina who are determined to find out what happened to the missing father of their friend, John B. Along the way, they discover a treasure that is tied to John B.’s father. 

  1. You Season 3 

The psychological thriller’s first season follows Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager in New York, who meets Guinevere Beck, an aspiring writer, who he becomes extremely infatuated with. Joe quickly turns to social media to track her presence and go to the extreme to eliminate anything that stands in the way of their relationship. The second season follows Joe through his journey of escaping his past and starting over with a new identity while he attempts to create new love. Fans of the series are elated that the show is coming back for a third season, as they follow Joe’s creepy antics and adventures.

  1. Double Dad

While her mother is abroad in India, an 18-year-old girl, Vicenza, takes the opportunity to escape the hippie community where she resides in hopes to track down her father. The spark to finding her dad, ends up sending her on a life-changing journey where she finds more than just one dad. 

  1. Don’t Look Up

Although little has been revealed about the upcoming film, Don’t Look Up is said to include big time actors and celebrities such as Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence and even more! It is said to star Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence who will portray two astronomers attempting to warn man kind about asteroids coming that will destroy Earth. 

Whether you enjoy true crime docuseries, romantic comedies, animations, or even guided meditations, Netflix has something for you! It is safe to say that we can definitely look forward to new releases on Netflix in 2021.
