Everyone knows Ms. Lehet. But do you know anything about her except that she teaches PE, health, and coaches soccer? Probably not. Ms. Lehet comes off as a reserved person and refers to her life as “boring.” She has been teaching PE and health ever since she can remember. Ms. Lehet says, “PE was the only class I enjoyed while growing up.” This led her to pursue her career in education.
Ms. Lehet graduated from Keene State College in New Hampshire and then from there taught in Vermont for five years. She says her favorite part about teaching is getting to know her students and building relationships with them. But what does Mrs. Lehet do in her “boring” life? Well, when she is not doing something LHS related, she is with her dog Kayda, who she rescued from Maine. Kayda is a mix of many breeds, including a pitbull and boxer, and she is Ms. Lehet’s best friend. They enjoy going on hikes together as well as snuggling up on the couch and watching movies. Ms. Lehet enjoys reading and crocheting, and you will never catch her without a Starbucks drink in her hand. Specifically, a salted caramel cold brew.
One thing all of Ms. Lehet’s soccer girls will agree upon is that she is strict (in a good way). Senior Yzabella Waddell, a varsity soccer player says, “Coach loves being on time and by on time we mean a half an hour early.” So if you are ever planning on joining Ms. Lehet’s soccer team, be prepared to be there 30 minutes before she actually told you to be there.
Ms. Lehet may seem a little intimidating at first, but once you get to know her, you’ll see the amazing person she is!
