Who is Zaden Allaire: Journalism Student OR Best Selling Comic Writer??

Ledyard’s very own Zaden Allaire, who has been a mystery to us all, has been approached by Image Comics about turning his comics into a book series! On the Colonel Newsmagazine, Allaire has been pushing out a small comic series called “The Mundane Adventures of Benny and Worchester.” His comics are about two friends, of interesting geometrical shape, and their very haphazard adventures. Not only did Allaire humbly (and quietly) accept this offer, but there are rumors being spread that he was recently approached to make a movie of the comics he’s been working on for Image Comics. 

Q: Are you excited to be turning your comics into a book? 

A: I guess, it will be better to make money for them, instead of just getting a grade for Journalism.

Q: How do you plan to balance your work with Image Comics and your school responsibilities?

A: I plan to graduate early or just take Journalism again next year and do my work for the book in that class… for more grades (sigh).

Q: When do you think your book will come out? 

A: 2024, or 2025 if I get lazy. 

Q: How and when did Image Comics reach out to you?

A: After posting my fourth comic to Colonel News on February 16th, the founder of Comic Image, Todd McFarlane emailed us about my comics. It started a conversation regarding using pieces of my comic to better one of the ones they have been creating. After thinking it over, I decided to decline. But after, they unexpectedly offered me a position working for the company as an author to make my own book series.

Q: Did you ever expect your high school comic to possibly be turning into a movie?

A: Obviously not….

Q: Are the rumors true, is “The Mundane Adventures of Benny and Worchester” going to be turned into a movie? 

A: It’s a possibility, I haven’t responded yet.
