March and April A’s & F’s

A to Newsies

Ledyard music did a phenomenal job during their Newsies performance on March 24, 25, and 26th. They almost sold out of tickets on each day and senior Matt Bourguignon says, “Each day the show got better and we had a way bigger turnout than we expected.”

A to Carnegie Hall

On Thursday, April 7, the traveling choirs took a trip to New York City to perform at Carnegie Hall. They stayed Thursday through Sunday and got to experience the city, along with a once in a lifetime experience of performing at this iconic concert hall.

A to Spring Break

Spring break was good. A group of 22 students traveled to Costa Rica with Mr. Jannke and spent nine days enjoying the beaches, rainforests, food and much more. Senior Emma Cassidy, who attended the trip says her favorite part was “Ziplining in the rainforest. The views were really pretty and I’m glad I got to share the experience with my friends.”

A to Robotics

Mr. Estabrooks and his robotics team advanced to the New England Championship. The “Cyber Colonels” were ranked 8 with a record of 10-5-0. They also received the Creativity Award sponsored by Rockwell Automation. Congratulations Cyber Colonels!

B to AG

Before spring break, two new baby sheep were welcomed into the Ag wing. Junior Ally Keefe, who is in the Agriscience program, says she is excited because, “they are cute, and will be a great learning experience for Ag.” Sadly, one of the babies was a stillborn.

B to Prom

Junior and Senior Prom are both soon approaching. Junior Prom will be on May 7 and Senior Prom will be held on May 21. For many seniors, this will be their first prom, due to Covid last year, as well as juniors’ first prom.

C to The Weather

The recent weather has been very back and forth. One day it is sunny and 60 degrees then the next it is freezing or rainy. However, the weather stayed pretty consistent throughout the break and people enjoyed a few sunny days.

F to AP Exams

As May approaches many dates for AP testing are as well. No one is excited for those, but best of luck to everyone taking one!
