Zoey 2015

“I know you see me standing there.” Those were the beginning lyrics that Zoey 101 fans nationwide heard and sang along to for years. That is until the show’s final season aired in 2008, and fans fell into a great depression. Reruns and the lack of cast reunions caused fans to have their hearts broken and turn to fan pages to vent their feelings. However, the time has come for the hit show to return to the Nickelodeon channel.

This June, Zoey 101 will air new episodes weekly featuring the old stars of the show. Jamie Lynn Spears, who played Zoey, will be married to Sean Flynn, who was Chase Matthews. Lynn’s baby, Maddie Aldridge, will act as the daughter. Other stars, including Victoria Justice, Erin Sanders and Austin Butler, will also return.

Senior Emme Cronin is a huge fan of the show and was delighted when she heard the news of the show’s return. “Zoey 101 has a special place in my heart because it’s Zoey 101; how could it not?” Cronin said. “Logan is clearly the cutest guy on the show.”

Junior Carina Mitchell also fell into a state of shock when the news broke out. “I am beyond excited. I felt like a piece of my life was missing when they were not airing the show,” Mitchell said. “I cannot wait to see new episodes. I have been watching old seasons over and over again, and I have seen season 1 about 20 times, so it will be nice to finally watch new episodes.”

However, Zoey 101 is not just a show for girls. Junior Ryan Krupansky is also thrilled to have the show back. “My favorite character is Chase because he was just the main guy,” Krupansky said. “ He was well rounded and was friends with almost anybody on the show which was what I liked about him.”

Zoey 101 may have ended seven years ago, but the fans’ spirits remain high. The return of the show is highly anticipated, and the first episode of the new season will not disappoint.
