Part 1: Sanders or Trump?

One of the biggest topics in America right now is the upcoming presidential election of November 2016 and whose name will appear on the ballot for Republican and Democratic candidates. Bernie Sanders is the best Democratic candidate and the best option for President of the United States.

Sanders is one of few politicians to actually express care for the people and not for their wallets. He has many plans set to make changes such as giving women and men the same pay for the same work. Sanders sees that the workplace for women, who earn precisely 78 cents for every dollar a man makes, is incredibly sexist. Sanders plans to sign the Paycheck Fairness Act into law and end wage discrimination if elected.

Sanders also plans to end the all too common college debts that millions of Americans are struggling to pay off every single day. Sanders will accomplish this by making public university tuition free, stop the government from profiting off of student loans, increase financial aid and lower student interest rates. It’s time the high costs of college stop affecting where we get a higher education; smarter citizens are better citizens after all.

Sanders is also a prime candidate because he is pro lesbian gay bi transgender (LGBT) and will fight to end the discrimination against this group, including their adoption rights. In addition to the act to end an unfair wage, he also plans to sign the Equality Act and the Every Child Deserves a Family Act which will allow LGBT families to adopt so less children are left without a family. Sanders will also veto any legislation that protects the “religious liberties,” where something like gay marriage was banned in many states because it clashed with the religious beliefs of some, at the expense of others. Sanders wants LGBT Americans to live without discrimination or fear of bullying, often leading to suicide. This is a quality any good president should have.

Most importantly, Sanders will work to care for our veterans. As president, he will ensure all veterans get the care he or she deserves, including gynecologists and obstetricians on staff for women, dental care and mental health specialists. Sanders will also fully fund and expand the Veterans Affairs Department (VA), substantially improve the processing of veteran’s claims for compensation and expand the VA’s caregivers program.

Bernie Sanders has all of the qualities needed in a good president and is not just fighting to have more money in his pocket. He wants America to be the best country possible, and under his leadership, it will be.
