Grey’s Anatomy Season Premiere: The Carousel that Never Stops Turning

CAUTION: SPOILER ALERTS

There has been a quote used repeatedly throughout the extremely popular television show, Grey’s Anatomy. Said by Ellis Grey and her daughter Meredith Grey, “The carousel never stops turning,” has become extremely popular with the viewers and is a metaphor to the show’s plotline.  Thankfully, ABC network has continued operating their carousel, as the standby is officially over. The TV network has announced that on Sept. 28,  the long-awaited season 14 will premiere. Show creator and producer, Shonda Rhimes, has left lasting impressions on many viewers, by killing off favorites like Derek Shepherd, plastic surgeon Mark Sloan, and Lexie “Little” Grey, and saying farewell others such as orthopedic surgeon Calliope Torres and cardiothoracic surgeon Christina Yang. Throughout the series, love has bloomed and fizzled, divorces were filed, and surgeries have been snatched from one surgeon to the next. Fans can expect season 14 to be just as dramatic, if not more.

Season 13 left viewers with many cliffhangers, one of the biggest surprises being the announcement that Megan Hunt, Owen’s beloved deceased sister and former love interest of Nathan Riggs, is not dead at all. Lindsay Macdonald, a staff writer for TV Guide Magazine, got the scoop on many hidden secrets season 14 has to offer: covering the love triangle between Meredith, Megan and Nathan, another love triangle between Maggie, April, and Jackson, and the departure of resident Stephanie Edwards. Viewers can also expect to get a better understanding and conclusive answers to the relationship between Alex Karev and Jo Wilson, as they were left off not really having a clear picture on if the relationship were to last or to crumble. We also will most likely find out what will happen between Amelia and Owen. Being a total Grey’s fan myself, I hope all these questions will FINALLY be answered. We can always count on this television show to keep us on the edge of our seats, with season 14 giving us the possibility of actually falling out of them.

The two-hour season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy will occur on Thurs., Sept. 28 at 8/7 pm.
