Time to get Watching

When the leaves hit the ground and the temperature drops, it can only mean one thing. It’s time to curl up with a cup of hot chocolate and catch up on all the new shows on TV. Fall shows are coming out now and here’s a list of some that are worth watching.

First, there’s the classic, Dancing With the Stars. The show aired on Sept. 18 for Season 25. The all-star cast this season includes celebrities like Jordan Fisher, most known for his roles as John Laurens and Philip Hamilton on the Broadway show Hamilton. He also appeared on Grease Live, but is now giving dancing a try. Also joining the cast is Pretty Little Liars actress, Sasha Pieterse. She started on Pretty Little Liars when she was only twelve years old, and once she wrapped up the final season, she quickly hopped over to Dancing With the Stars. Returning on the show, of course, are the three judges, Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli. The show has had only two episodes so far this season, but it’s heating up to be a great competition.

The singing competition show, The Voice, aired on Sept. 25 for its thirteenth season The show gives everyone of all shapes and sizes an equal opportunity at a singing career. This season, the show welcomes back Blake Shelton and Adam Levine, as returning coaches, Miley Cyrus, a returning coach who took a year off, and they are welcoming a new coach to The Voice, Jennifer Hudson. Hudson made her Broadway debut in the role of Shug Avery in the musical The Color Purple. Since then she has been blowing everyone away with her talented voice and incredible personality. The blind auditions are still in play as of now, and the battle rounds will follow on Oct. 16.

This Is Us, with an all-star cast, touched everyone’s hearts in season one and is back again to mess with our emotions for its second season The show focuses on a family in different time periods: it jumps back and forth between the parents and the kids. The parents have two twins and one adopted, they have have to get through marriage and kids, messy as it is. The show has a very relatable theme that reaches out to everyone watching it. This Is Us aired on Sept. 27.

A day later, the popular CBS show Survivor came back for Season 35. Airing for 35 seasons,, the show doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. Jeff Probst has been hosting the show since the start, and continues to do so. The reality competition show takes 18 strangers and puts them into two, sometimes three, different tribes. The goal of the game is to outwit, outlast, and outplay the other competitors. With an entire new cast, and only one episode out already, it’s easy to tell that the season will be one of the most dramatic ones in Survivor history.

These are just a few of the many fall TV shows to start watching. So make yourself a hot chocolate, pull out the warm fuzzy blankets, and get to watching.
