Almost every high school student dreams to break a record in something or to just be noticed. This dream came true for a fellow Ledyard Colonel.
Senior Captain Megan Larmann of the girls’ lacrosse team was awarded 1st team All-Star and Scholar Athlete Award this season along with finishing her high school career scoring 143 goals. This makes her the new all-time leading scorer in Ledyard girls’ lacrosse history, breaking the previous record of 135 goals set by Michaela Holland who graduated in 2013. Larmann felt surprised, “It was crazy breaking the record because I had no idea.”
This season alone Larmann scored 62 goals with a team record of 6 wins and 10 loses to add to her record-setting season. This season has been, “even more enjoyable because we have played better than past years where our season last year was 3-13 and the year before 4-12,” Larmann states. Even in some of the team’s losses, the Colonels have proven far more competitive than recent years. Larmann will be continuing her lacrosse career by playing for the Amherst Mammoths at Amherst College next season, but Larmann will never forget “all the funny moments the team has including Cass falling almost every game!”
