Not everyone is a fan of football and the Super Bowl. When your family gets together at a Super Bowl party it can get boring and loud. Sometimes I wonder why I’m even watching if I don’t like football. There are most likely going to be a few people who watch football and know what is going on in the game, but you don’t have to feel like you have to watch the Super Bowl with family and friends. 

This article  is for people who don’t like the Super Bowl and rather do something else. If there’s a family getting together for the Super Bowl and you’re not a fan,  just keep in mind that there’s alway going to the snack, games, commercials and halftime show when you don’t want to watch football. 

 You can hang out at the snack bar. Don’t worry about getting a plate because you’re not eating in front of the TV, and always make sure you are saving some food for other people: don’t eat the whole snack bowl by yourself. I know sometimes it can be tempting for you and other people to keep eating some delicious snacks, but before you know it, the snack can soon disappear. Instead, this might be a good time to do something else. 

Something that is always fun during the Super Bowl is playing some card or board games with some family members or friends who also don’t want to watch the Super Bowl. The game can be related to the Super Bowl like Super Bowl bingo, football trivia, or Super Bowl word scramble. Also, you can play other games that don’t have to be related to the Super Bowl. If you are worried about other people not wanting to play then you can incentivize them by offering prizes for the winners. 

The commercials and halftime show can be the best part of the Super Bowl. When the commercials and the halftime show come on, stop whatever you are doing and go in the living room so you don’t miss them. There are all different kinds of commercials. There can be between 80 and 100 commercials during the game. For the halftime show it can be exciting to watch celebrities sing and dance on stage and this year’s performance is being kept top secret as far as guest performers and theme. 

Don’t be afraid to do something besides watching football especially when people are screaming at the top of their lungs at the TV. Or maybe you just don’t know what is going on and think football is too boring.  If so, allow yourself to do something more exciting.
