Logan Paul Creates Better Controversy Than Products

Famous influencers Logan Paul and KSI’s sports energy drink called “Prime” are currently facing a class-action lawsuit for “forever chemicals” being found in their products, otherwise known as perfluorooctanoic acid, or for short, PFSA. PFAS’s are a specific kinds of forever chemicals that have been linked to decreased antibodies in infants, lower birth weights, increased cholesterol in adults, and increased liver enzymes in adults. Chemicals of substances like perfluorooctanoic acid are called ‘forever chemicals’ for the exact reason that their scientific makeup is so complex, that human bodies just simply can’t break the substance down. These chemicals take thousands upon thousands of years to break down on their own.

Prime, first released in early January of 2022, was once a drink that flew off shelves faster than toilet paper during the Covid-19 pandemic. Now the drink is on almost every clearance rack of every store it’s been sold from. Vera, the person behind the class-action lawsuit, determined it was Prime’s grape flavor that contained three to four times the amount of PFAS than a person should consume in their entire lifetime, in one bottle.

Other controversial parts of Prime have been put under the microscope recently. Prime contains so much caffeine in one bottle that it cannot legally be sold to children in Australia and contains more caffeine in one bottle than six Coca-Colas. In other words, Prime’s reputation is taking a serious hit.

Logan Paul has come out to defend the sports drink, yet, his words have fallen mostly flat. Logan Paul’s credibility has been scrutinized for years since the ‘suicide forest’ incident in 2017, and more recently the cryptozoo scam he rug pulled millions of dollars from supporters starting back in 2021 and is still ongoing. Every project and at every check-point of Paul’s career he seems to be creating more controversy and even more profit. The details of the lawsuit are still ongoing, and details are still emerging.
