Some of the best fall memories are made on a foggy morning with a warm drink in hand.
The scent of fallen leaves fills the room where your cozy couch is. A fall-themed blanket sits on
your lap, keeping you warm against the chilled autumn air. The hardest choice to make is what
movie to watch. What could possibly match your cozy and spooky vibe? Here are some
recommendations for October-themed movies to complete your cozy morning.
Freshman Jeremy Sanborn recommends watching “Scream 1.” “It was my first ever
Halloween movie,” said Sanborn. This spooky film is a classic and the villain Ghost Face is a
common Halloween costume. The film can be streamed on Peacock, Amazon Prime, or YoutubeTV. If you are in the mood for a good scare this movie is a great choice for you.
Sophomore Ariyana Nelson said that her favorite October movie is “The Conjuring.”
Nelson said, “Me and my family have a Conjuring movie marathon every year.” This fun
tradition creates good memories while still getting a thrill from the scare. “The Conjuring” is a
scary movie, so take that into consideration before selecting it as your fall film. If you love the
exhilarating feeling a scary movie provides, you can watch this film on Max, Netflix, Hulu, or
Amazon Prime.
Junior Hayley Peckham said that her favorite October movie is the original “Hocus Pocus.” When asked about the second movie she said, “ I heard it was bad so I haven’t watched it, yet.” Sticking true to the original, Peckham is hesitant to watch the new film in fear that it will not hold up to the high standards set by the original “Hocus Pocus.” This movie is a classic and funny Halloween themed movie and is great for all ages. If you are looking for a
good laugh, you can find “Hocus Pocus” on Disney+.
Senior Jaden Sebastian said his favorite October movie to watch in the fall is the
“Gremlins.” Sebastian says, “When I was younger, I watched ‘Gremlins’ so many times that my
Grandpa got sick of it.” This was Sebastian’s first scary movie, so it will always hold a special
place in his heart. “Gremlins” can be streamed on Max, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Youtube TV.
If your fall schedule is all booked, and you don’t have time to get comfortable and relax
for an October movie, perhaps a Halloween-Christmas crossover movie will help with the
transition from fall to winter. Senior Stella Morrison said that her favorite holiday movie is “The
Nightmare before Christmas.” This thrilling animated movie, created by Tim Burton, can be
watched on Disney+.
