Graduation Celebration

After all the hard work and stress, graduation deserves a celebration. Packed with late nights, goal-setting, and many memories, the road to graduating isn’t just a milestone; it’s a moment to be present in and enjoy. Getting creative, like decorating graduation caps, dressing for success, and participating in senior activities, can make this day extra unforgettable!

The tradition of decorating graduation caps is a bold way to express everyone’s unique personalities. It shows what they do or think about in their free time, whether that be through quotes, photos, lyrics, or a statement. Throughout high school, students are finding hobbies they enjoy while growing into young adults. Senior London Littlefield enthusiastically says, “I am decorating my cap to be a childhood theme to symbolize my journey!” Telling your story makes the moment special;  it tells what you care about or where you’re headed. You can also decorate other things like your car; senior Teagan Caviness says, “Me and my friends are gonna hang out, take photos, and decorate our car windows to hype up graduating.” Getting creative is the best way to celebrate and have fun while doing it.

On this day, graduates want to dress for success and care about how they are presenting themselves! Walmart and T.J. Maxx have good, cheap hair products and tools to get your hair all styled up. Choose an outfit that is clean, cute, and comfortable; it will help one stay focused and confident, giving them the chance to enjoy the day. Aim for clothes that fit well under a gown, like lightweight material and neutral colors. The smallest details do matter, so pay attention to them to look put-together and clean. Planning ahead and dressing thoughtfully shows how much seniors care and present their hard work.

Participate in senior activities! Senior Skip Day isn’t just about ditching class; it is a chance for seniors to pause and enjoy the time they have left with each other before everyone goes their separate ways. After years of being around each other almost every day, shared classes, sports, responsibilities, taking a day off offers a way to relax and hang out without rules or teachers being around. Senior Madison Soucier says, “This year has been a big year, hanging out with friends is one of my favorite things to do.” Going to the beach, getting breakfast, or hanging out outside of school is a phenomenal way to soak in some freedom before graduation flips a new page for everyone.

Seniors are on the edge of something exciting and uncertain; it’s not just the end of high school, but it’s the start of a new beginning. Years from now, it is not the Tuesday classes you remember but the memories created along the way.
